How a Preply subscription is billed
Preply is not a flat monthly subscription. You choose a lesson package with a specific tutor, and Preply charges you for it on a 28-day cycle, in advance.
How billing works
Every 28 days, Preply charges your payment method for your next block of lessons at your chosen tutor's rate. This repeats automatically until you change or cancel it, which is why checking your lesson count and tutor rate before the renewal date matters if your needs change.
Premium add-on
Preply Premium is a separate add-on, priced at $24.99 a month, that discounts lesson packages by 3-20%. It sits on top of your regular lesson billing rather than replacing it.
Changing your plan
Plan changes take effect at the next renewal rather than partway through a cycle you have already paid for. If you want fewer hours, or a different tutor at a different rate, make the change before the renewal date; after it, you are committed to that block.
01
Can I change my lesson package mid-cycle?
You can adjust your plan for the next billing cycle. Changes typically apply from the next 28-day renewal rather than immediately refunding the current one.
02
What happens if I don't cancel before renewal?
Your subscription renews automatically at the same rate and lesson count, and you're billed again for the next 28-day block.
03
Is Preply Premium required?
No. It's an optional add-on for a lesson-package discount, not a requirement to use the platform.
