Preply Reviews

How we check what we publish

Every price, policy and quote on this site is traced to a source we can point at, and dated. Pricing and policy facts come from Preply's own published pages and help centre. Reviewer quotes come from Preply's public Trustpilot page and link back to the original.

How we verify facts

Language platforms change their pricing quietly and often. A figure copied from a two-year-old blog post is worse than no figure at all, so ours go through four passes before they reach a page.

  1. 01

Check it at the source. Hourly rates, the 18% one-time platform fee and the 28-day billing cycle come from Preply's own pages and help centre, read directly, never from another review site's summary of them.

  2. 02

Print the date. Each page carries the date its facts were last checked, near the top, so you can judge how fresh the number in front of you is.

  3. 03

Say when we do not know. Preply's affiliate programme runs through several networks on materially different terms, and no public figure is authoritative, so we publish no commission or cookie numbers at all rather than picking the one that flatters us.

  4. 04

Recheck when it moves. A price change on Preply's side means the page is corrected and re-dated, and the correction is noted where it is material.

How we source reviews

Preply's Trustpilot profile held a 4.4 rating from 25,330 reviews when we last read it on 17 September 2026. That number is Trustpilot's, and we treat it as theirs: it is quoted with a link and it is never rebuilt into a rating of our own.

  1. 01

Quotes are taken verbatim from the public Trustpilot page, with the reviewer's name as it appears there and a link back to the original.

  2. 02

Critical reviews stay in. One reviewer's complaint about being unable to leave feedback after a tutor blocked them sits on the review page alongside the praise, because a page of nothing but five stars tells a reader nothing.

  3. 03

A tutor's review is labelled as a tutor's. Preply's Trustpilot page carries reviews from people who teach on the platform as well as people who learn on it, and presenting the first as the second would misread the evidence.

  4. 04

No aggregated rating is ever marked up as structured data on this site. Google's review snippet policy forbids marking up ratings collected by someone else, and we have formed no first-party score of our own, so the site emits neither.
