Preply's refund policy
A trial lesson you're not satisfied with is generally refundable in credits rather than cash. Preply publishes the full refund terms on its own site, and we are confirming the exact wording, the time limit and whether cash refunds are ever offered before we state any of them as fact.
How to request
Refund requests are typically handled through Preply's support/help centre rather than a self-service button. Explain which lesson and tutor the request concerns.
Refund eligibility
The case Preply states plainly is an unsatisfactory trial lesson, refunded in credits. Beyond that the picture is less clear, and we are not going to sharpen it artificially: the exact conditions, the time limit and whether cash is ever returned are published on Preply's own terms page and we are checking them. Lessons you have already taken and been happy with are not refundable, which is the one part nobody disputes.

Does a refund come back as cash or as credits?
Credits, in the normal case. The amount returns to your Preply balance to spend on another lesson rather than to the card you paid with. Whether a cash refund is ever available is one of the details we are still checking against Preply's own terms.

What does it cost to try a different tutor afterwards?
Preply's platform fee is 18% and its own help centre describes it as a one-time charge on your first lesson with each new tutor. Booking someone else means paying it once more on that first lesson, which is $3.60 on a $20 lesson.

Is there a deadline for asking?
Preply sets one, and we are not going to guess at the number of days. Ask as soon as the lesson has finished rather than leaving it, and check the current limit on Preply's own terms page before you rely on it.
