Preply Reviews

Paying for Preply

Preply charges through standard card and major digital wallet payment processing, billed on your 28-day lesson cycle. The exact list of accepted methods, including which card networks and which regional options, is published on Preply's own payment page. We are confirming it before repeating a list here, because that list changes by country.

Billing questions

The questions worth settling before you enter a card are when the money leaves, whether it repeats, and what the Premium add-on costs on top. All three are answered below, and the cycle itself is covered on how the subscription is billed.

  1. 01

When does the money actually leave your account?

In advance. Preply bills every 28 days for the weekly hours you committed to, so you pay at the start of a cycle rather than after the lessons happen. Four weeks is shorter than a calendar month, which works out at thirteen charges across a year rather than twelve.

  2. 02

Does the charge repeat on its own?

Yes. The 28-day cycle renews automatically until you cancel, and cancelling stops future billing rather than refunding the cycle you are already inside.

  3. 03

Is the Premium add-on billed separately?

Yes. Preply Premium is its own $24.99 a month charge and it takes between 3% and 20% off lesson packages. At the 20% end it pays for itself on about $125 of lessons a month; at the 3% end you would need to spend more than $830 before it broke even.
