Preply Spanish tutors
Spanish is one of Preply's highest-demand languages, which generally means a larger tutor pool and more choice on price and specialty (Latin American vs. European Spanish, exam prep, business Spanish) than a lower-demand language. Preply does not publish a standing tutor count by language, so we are not quoting one. The number on any search page moves daily anyway.
Spanish tutor pool
The decision that shapes a Spanish shortlist is which Spanish you want. Latin American and European varieties differ in pronunciation, in everyday vocabulary and in whether vosotros is ever used, and a tutor from Bogotá and a tutor from Valladolid will both teach you correct Spanish while preparing you for different rooms. Pick the variety against where you are going, then shortlist. If an exam is the goal, note that Instituto Cervantes treats every regional variety as equally valid in both DELE and SIELE, so no variety disqualifies you; the difference is that SIELE is explicitly pan-Hispanic while DELE's material leans towards Spain. Cost
Preply publishes a single platform-wide band, $3 to $40 and above an hour, and does not split it by language, so that is what to plan against. Rates are set by each tutor rather than by the variety of Spanish they teach, so choosing European over Latin American is not in itself a price decision. Add the 18% one-time platform fee on your first lesson with each new tutor, which is worth knowing before you decide to trial three of them.
What lessons look like
With a larger tutor pool, filtering by accent region and specialty matters more for Spanish than for a niche language, where you may simply take whoever is available. Rates follow the same general $3-$40+/hr band as the rest of the platform.
